Wonderfully Made

March 28th marked a beginning of a new talk series entitled “It’s a Miracle”, with its first key focus: Creation. I kept on wondering what this is all about, but the minute Bro. Jan Silan said the first line, which he repeated all throughout his talk, I knew this message was meant for us all. He said: “You are more beautiful than you think you are.”

It’s true that we are our own worst critic. We tend to see beauty and kindness and strength in others, but never in ourselves. We are generous in praises, thoughtful in words to others Whether it’s part of our “humble” culture or something else altogether, I’m not sure, but what I do know is that we are all special, not just because of who we are, but because of whose we are. We are God’s masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10).

Masterpiece

When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece.

Psalm 139:13-16 tells us that we are “Fearfully and wonderfully made” and that all our days “ordained (for me) were written in Your book before one of them came to be”. This is how we were intricately made by the Lord. We were well-thought of, detailed,  and made out of God’s love.

When you doubt the product, you doubt the manufacturer.

Our insecurities in our appearance or our personality are insults to our Creator. This statement opened my eyes when I thought of how much I am hurting and insulting God because of the petty things I see in others that I don’t have. While it is part of human nature to always look for something better, contentment is suddenly much more appealing to me because it means I get to honor my Creator by choosing that.

The antidote to insecurities is to go back to the Source.

Who made you? How much does He love you? How much of this love are you willing to see and accept? These are questions we need to ask ourselves each time we are faced with something that seems much greater than everything we know, or even at times when it’s just so easy to hate a friend who has just gotten a new car, a promotion, or a handsome boyfriend. I believe that we are equipped with everything that we need… and the ones we want but we do not have yet, we most likely do not need yet.
